Delivery and Site Preparation
Delivery planning begins with the ordered configuration and the receiving site. Rack projects also require a facility review before shipment.
Shipment and Destination
Include the delivery destination, receiving contact, required window and access restrictions in the request. Freight, insurance, unloading, positioning and installation responsibilities should be stated in the offer.
Lead times depend on the selected components, equipment condition and destination. Request a current estimate for the exact model and quantity. Separate shipment dates from any onsite commissioning schedule.
Prepare the Receiving Site
| Check | Confirm before delivery |
|---|---|
| Access | Loading area, doors, lifts, handling route and clearance for the packaged equipment. |
| Power | Approved capacity, feeds, connectors, distribution and redundancy. |
| Cooling | Airflow and heat removal, or specified liquid-cooling conditions and interfaces. |
| Rack and floor | Available rack space, mounting compatibility, load limits and service clearances. |
| Network | Ports, supported cables/optics, switch capacity and management access. |
| Receiving team | Staff availability and a process for documenting shipment condition. |
Receiving and Inspection
Match the shipment to its packing list. Record package condition, equipment identifiers and discrepancies before installation. Keep photographs and shipping documents with the purchase record.
Follow the agreed reporting and return process if a discrepancy is found. Packaging retention and return handling depend on the service or commercial terms for the specific order.
Additional Rack Requirements
For liquid-cooled racks, identify the coolant distribution equipment, facility connection scope and installation provider. Clarify which components are included with the OEM rack and which are supplied by the facility.
For destinations outside the United States, the quotation should identify delivery scope, documentation and the party responsible for import arrangements. International delivery is subject to confirmation for the actual equipment and destination.
