Preparing a Site for GPU Systems

Connect the exact ordered configuration to the facility that will receive it. Use current OEM installation documents to establish the requirements.

Electrical and Cooling Requirements

Confirm available electrical capacity, feed configuration, distribution equipment, connectors, redundancy and the approved installation location with the facility team. Distinguish system operating power from the combined nameplate ratings of the power supplies.

Air-cooled systems need an airflow and heat-removal plan. NVIDIA publishes model-specific physical, operational and power requirements for DGX B300, including different AC and busbar arrangements. DGX B300 installation specifications.

Define Liquid-Cooling Ownership

Identify the coolant distribution equipment and facility connections in the actual offer. Confirm the required coolant conditions and facility interface with the manufacturer and installation provider.

GB300 NVL72 variants illustrate why the exact scope matters: Cisco’s M0 offer relies on a facility-provided CDU, while M1 includes an in-rack CDU scope. Other OEM configurations must be reviewed separately. Cisco GB300 requirements.

Receiving and Installation

Verify shipping dimensions, loading access, lifts, handling equipment, delivery route, floor loading, rack compatibility and service clearance. Assign responsibility for receiving and positioning before scheduling delivery.

Networking and Handover

Define the compute fabric, storage connectivity and management network together. Specify switches, adapters, supported cables or optics, port counts and topology. High-speed adapters alone do not define a complete multi-node network. NVIDIA HGX networking architecture.

Agree configuration records, firmware/software versions, health checks, a workload test, support ownership and any remaining work as handover deliverables. Include facility changes and installation services in the project quotation.

Prepare a Deployment Brief

Include the equipment, facility interfaces and installation responsibilities.
